The weekend

The weekend in California went very well. At least for Dax and I. We had a GREAT time visiting with family and friends. We saw my parents, Dax's parents, Dax's sister and new fiance, her Daughter, all of the new fiance's family and we hung out a bit with Dax's mom. We even went out with Rob and his new girlfriend who is really cool on Saturday night. In between all of the visiting, we took many strolls down memory lane - went by my old childhood home, went by the same for Dax. I saw the old "baseball fields" - that consisted of man holes, curbs and mailboxes.. that he played with his friends in the street when he was younger. I got to see old places that he went out with friends when he was in college. It was fun to know that we have similar upbringings and remember that we really have known eachother that long. It was a fun time!! The only bummer, is that the whole reason we came out was to see the Christening of little Jordan. She is in a phase where she won't let anyone hold her or even look at her. On top of that, she came down with a fever of 104 on Saturday night before the Christening, and she was MISERABLE all day. It was her day for her 1st birthday party and Christening and she didn't want to do anything but sleep. Her poor parents were exhausted too. ...they were up all night with her. My mother in law was miserable, because she wanted to hold her and Jordan wouldn't have anything to do with her. So... that sucked, but otherwise, it was a really fun time getting to know everyone and combine families. We took a red-eye home on Sunday night, and I had the best of intentions of sleeping on the plane and going to work yesterday. But when I didn't get much sleep and I felt like complete butt the next morning, I called in sick. The crazy thing is, I had so much to do. ... but it all seemed to carry over fine till today. So, that is good news.
